Clinical cases

European School of Internal Medicine
SUMMER ESIM 2015

Venue: Free Beach Club, Costa Rei – Muravera, Sardinia, Italy

Dear Residents,

let me express all our enthusiasm for your participation to the next ESIM 2015 School in Sardinia.
We really hope that this can be a successful course both in terms of knowledge and personal interactions between all of us.

The main theme of this year will be “Errors”.

This topic will be declined in diferent ways, from the early morning “Morbidity & Mortality” cases, where will be presented clinical cases containing multifarious kind of errors to detect and discuss, to three lectures focused on different topics related to errors: cognitive aspects, practical aspects related to specific hospital settings and health system aspects.
There will be an almost daily section on “Acid Base Disturbances” as well as many other lectures and workshops.
On Wednesday morning, one of your dream will become true. One of the most important clinical researcher in thromboembolism will feature a discussion on “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Pulmonary Embolism But Were Afraid to Ask”. Please, provide us by mail with a list of questions you would like to ask within May 25th.
As you will soon see on the program, we will have, as tradition of the School, Clinical Case Presentations. As you can see in the attached “Guidelines for Clinical Case Presentations”, each country will have to present ONE clinical case to the ESIM group. Thus, please, read carefully the Guidelines and contact by mail the other residents of you country to decide together what case and who is going to present it. Usually, the 10 min presentation is performed by 1 or 2 residents. Of course, if you are the only representative of your country, you will be in charge of preparing and presenting the clinical case by your own.
See you soon in Sardinia!
